Week of June 25, 2012
McHugh Construction is continuing in the construction of the new Red Gate Road bridge over the Fox River. The pile driving for the temporary bridges to construct Piers 2 & 3 is underway. The framing and pouring of Pier 1 is ongoing. Concrete pours for Pier 4 are complete. Work continues at the intersection of Red Gate Road and IL 31 with water main and electrical duct installations.
In the next week, McHugh’s main focus continues to be the construction of the temporary bridges. Western Utility will finish the watermain installation on the west side of the river. It will then be pressure tested and chlorinated before use. Western will then begin storm sewer installation east of the Fox River. Hecker will be working on the electrical duct installation west of the river and will also be installing electric manholes east of the river. These installations will result in the temporary closure of the Fox River Trail during the day on Tuesday June 26th.
Nicor is still finishing up their work along IL 25. AT&T will soon begin their relocation on the east side of IL 31. Comcast has started their relocations along IL 25 and ComEd has begun their work along IL 25 with tree trimming in anticipation of setting new power poles next week.
Finally, IDOT has given notice that there will be a full closure of IL 25, south of Fox Glen Drive, sometime in the near future. More information about this closure will be posted as it becomes available.
