Week of April 30, 2012

McHugh Construction continued to work on their pile driving operation for the bridge foundations east of the Fox River. They completed the east abutment piles and are close to completing the piles for piers six and seven. Homer Tree Service cut down trees along both sides of IL 25 and along the west side of the Fox River. Hecker Electric started their work on the temporary traffic signal at the intersection of IL 31 and Red Gate Road.

During the next week, McHugh will continue to work on the bridge footings at piers five, six, and seven. They will start setting reinforcing steel for the footings and pouring some concrete. Hecker will continue to work on the traffic signal at IL 31 and Red Gate. Traffic may be staged along IL 25, shifting both northbound and southbound traffic slightly to the west. Finally, Western Utility may begin installing some storm sewer on the west side of the river.
